Immunizations

As advocates for global wellness and preventive care we recommend vaccinating based on the guidelines developed by the Centers for Disease Control, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

We aim to educate our patients and care givers on evidence based immunization information.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has called immunizations the greatest public health achievement of the 20th century.

Immunizations vs. Vaccinations

There is a lot of talk in the news these days about immunizations and vaccinations.  Are they the same thing?

Immunizations protect us from serious diseases and also prevent the spread of those diseases to others. Over the years, immunizations have thwarted epidemics of once common infectious diseases such as measles, mumps, and whooping cough.

Vaccinations are the act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease. Immunization: A process by which a person becomes protected against a disease through vaccination. This term is often used interchangeably with vaccination or inoculation.

Let’s talk about the importance of immunizations first.

5 Reasons why immunizations work

Putting the myths to rest

The Department of Health & Human Services confirms that both vaccination and immunization are good for both children and adults.  The Center for Disease Control concurs and offers a table with legend on their website for which ones should be done at what age.  Yes! Both children and adults receive immunizations and vaccines.

Many parents have questions about childhood immunizations. As a caregiver you have the right to be well informed about the healthcare needs of your children. While we respect a parent’s right to refuse vaccinations, we must also stress their importance in preventing disease and sickness. If you choose not to vaccinate your child, you will be required to sign a refusal of immunization form, as per our practice policy.

At Elite Care Clinic we believe that immunizations and vaccinations save lives and protect people.  It is proven that:

  • Immunizations can save your child’s life.
  • Vaccination is safe & effective (since 1796 with the first innovated and performed by Edward Jenner for Cowpox and Smallpox.)
  • Immunizations protect you and those around you.
  • Immunizations can save you and your family time and money
  • Immunizations protect future generations.

At Elite Care Clinic we will offer immunizations for adults and teens such as:

  • Influenza
  • Pneumonia
  • Meningitis
  • HPV
  • Tetanus
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
